A Travellin' we will go!

I know my posts have been few and far between but let's just say it's been a little CRAZY around here for a variety of reasons one of which is because I'm a leavin' tomorrow! Now I try to remain casual about the whole thing because my husband unfortunately has to stay and work, but how can I not be totally excited to return to my homeland, Beautiful British Columbia. I not only get to stay at my parents but I've been privileged enough to get an invitation to a good friend of mine, Petra's wedding!

This picture was taken when me and Petra went on a road trip to Radium Hot Springs when Jonah was just little. I remember the last few hours of the trip when we just wanted to get home, Jonah was crying and crying and nothing could stop him. We had driven all day long and he just wanted to get out of the car, poor kid. Me and Petra kept switching sitting in the back doing all we could to please this boy! So now I get to see her married off to a wonderful man (I'm sure he would have to be wonderful for her to pick him).

Not to mention all the other fabulous people who I will get to see while I'm out there. Here's hoping to a way less chaotic trip than last year's totally crazy, try to see a million and one people, trip out to Vancouver!

So what do you think should I follow in Darla's footsteps and have someone else step in to do my blog? I bet if a bunch of people posted a 'yay for Jeff to do it' he just might. Ah, who am I kidding, he's not one for peer pressure...he is game for bribing though...

Yay, I'm Three!

We made it! With 8 kids and a water baloon fight, Ben managed to hold his own.
An hour into the party, we were hit with a hail storm, so my "no mess" party plans were quickly washed away. My Superman cake was devoured in minutes (thank God for cameras to preserve all the painstaking hours that go into these cakes that can disappear in minutes!)
Ben opened his gifts...He absolutely loved his Buzz Light Year coloring book and in the goodie bags we had given everyone a Superman ring which Ben and Jonah are absolutely crazy about! I had to majorally restrain myself from not putting those rings back on the shelf for the ridiculous amount that they charge for these things.
And then it was over and now I'm left with a little boy that's not so little anymore.

Check out the photos below! We had the best time in Banff with my brother Kelly and his family. We were so lucky to find a great campsite close to Banff. It was a tad on the cold side during the night...Cari discovered a great way to warm up the tent, she heated a rock up in the fire and then put it in a pot in the tent, I guess it warmed it right up and kept it warm for a few hours. Jeff wouldn't let us do the same thing, he said the kids might touch it and burn themselves, but I think the real reason is he likes to cuddle :) It was great to spend some time in the city, I've been through it so many times, but I haven't had the opportunity to take the time to tour around. We visited some shops, went on a hike, had a picnic in the park, learnt some history on how the Hot Springs were discovered, visited a lake, ate some incredible food and the best part was getting to hang out with my older brother who I don't get to see that often! On the way back home we went through Drumheller which is filled with dinosaurs all over town. We stopped to go inside their biggest dinosaur which you can see in the pictures. Now we're back home busy planning a birthday party for a superhero turning three!! It's hard to believe little Ben isn't so little anymore.

Wine anyone?

I finally finished making my wine and to my surprise it actually tastes good! I got the kit for my birthday and last night finished the fun process of bottling. Now I know everyone is going to want to come out here for a visit but please only a few visitors at a time :)

I'm off for the long weekend to go camping in Banff to meet my brother and his family (just so someone knows where to look if we get kidnapped by some bears!). We're all quite excited...look out you big beautiful mountains, here we come!
